This week in our Real Fans Poll we are going to take a look at the Big 12, PAC-12, and the NFC conference.
In the Big 12 fans are jumping hard on the Texas bandwagon. Texas is coming in as the top Big 12 team, ahead of both Oklahoma at number two and a surprising Kansas coming in at number three. Our NCAAF expert this week is Scooby Axson of SI.com. Axson’s Power Rankings seem to be more in-line with the expected turn out in the Big 12. His top three teams in the Big 12 are West Virginia (#8), Texas (#12) and Oklahoma (#14).
The PAC-12 offers up a more balanced conference as opposed to the top-heavy Big 12. Our fans at ShooWin have Washington coming in as the top team, which Axon agrees with, having the Huskies ranked 7th overall in the nation. Fans are placing the Oregon Ducks as their number two team, while Axson has them coming in as his third team in the PAC-12. Rounding out the rankings for our fans is Arizona State. Axson has undefeated Colorado as his number two team in the Pac-12 while ranking them 17th in the country.
Looking at the NFL’s NFC conference, we will be referring to James Parks of 247sports.com as our NFL expert this week. While the Rams seem to clearly be the best team in the NFC, Parks has them as his top team, but the fans actually have them as number two behind the Chicago Bears. Park agrees that the Bears are a legit threat, as he has them as his number three team. Fans have the Packers coming in at number three still despite a 2-2-1 record, while Parks is leaning on the Saints as his number two team behind the Rams.
With the NCAAF season about half over, conferences are learning which teams are contenders, and which are pretenders. The Big 12 seems to have three serious contenders in West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Texas. The PAC-12 seems to have a number of teams that could still make a championship appearance at this stage of the season. The NFC seems to all be chasing down the Rams, who look like one of, if not the best team in the NFL. We’re only about ⅓ of the way through the NFL season, so hope is still alive for almost every team. Once playoffs start, it’s a brand new season in the NFL and any team can find themselves in the NFC Championship game. Make sure to reserve your tickets now, while hope is still alive!
